Cold Weather Coming

 

My oh my!  I'm looking at the weather report now.  It shows freezing temperatures moving into our area on Saturday and Sunday.  The current forecast shows that on Monday, the low will be 16 degrees and the high will be 32.  That may seem warm and balmy to some, but for us in South Louisiana, that is doggone cold!

We've been picking plenty of broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, sugar snap peas, kale, lettuce, Swiss Chard, mustard, spinach, turnips, and brussel sprout greens.  We harvested some of our first beets and carrots.  The cole crops are usually pretty hardy in cold weather, but the weather coming is REALLY cold.  It may result in disaster for our winter garden.  We'll try our best to prepare for it!
